The Standard.

OMNOVA Solutions is a recognized leader in the manufacture of latex for use in tire cord and mechanical rubber goods (MRG) adhesives. Our GenTac® vinylpyridine (VP) latex products are recognized internationally as the standard by which other products are measured, and we’re bonded to some of the world’s most famous tires.

It’s no wonder. With our lineage to GenCorp, and General Tire and Rubber before it, we were the first company in the world to produce VP latex for RFL (resorcinol formaldehyde latex) dipping more than 50 years ago. A broad, global customer base continues to rely on OMNOVA Solutions to deliver exceptional quality and service.

Conventional or Custom

GenTac VP latex provides excellent adhesion of synthetic fabric to rubber. GenTac latex is used in conjunction with resorcinol and formaldehyde as well as certain other resins to obtain adhesion to nylon, rayon, polyester, aramid and glass cords used in tires and mechanical goods.

Our technical service group will work to provide the best solution for your end-use requirements. We evaluate product samples, recommend formulations for your particular applications and participate fully in plant trials. We can adapt our product technology to meet conventional applications but also excel at developing customized formulations.

GenTac latex is produced at OMNOVA’s facilities in Mogadore, Ohio and Calhoun, Georgia. We can handle package, bulk truck or bulk rail shipments. For overseas customers, we ship drums, totes, goodpacks or flexitanks.
