Flat Laminates.

Many of the creative and physical attributes of OMNOVA Solutions' Flat Laminates and radiance™ Flat Laminates can be customized to give you the ability to create unique and differentiated products that achieve specific decorative and functional effects, or meet demanding project requirements. Our experienced technical associates can assist you in the selection of the proper combination that best meets your creative and practical needs.

Flat Laminates' color, pattern, embossing, coating, thickness, roll width, and packaging can be customized.

Color, Pattern, and Embossing

For those projects where the "look” is the highest priority, OMNOVA offers one of the industry’s largest design and embossing libraries. By leveraging our creative resources, product designers and developers have an unmatched degree of freedom to create fresh, new designs and unique material appearances by exploring combinations of patterns, colors and embossings.

The creativity doesn’t stop with the selection or creation of a pattern. We can help you achieve a new and unique appearance of a standard Flat Laminate by customizing or altering the colors used during the printing process or changing its embossing roll.

Performance Coatings

OMNOVA offers several top coatings that can help protect the laminate. In addition, each coating can be specified in a range of gloss levels to achieve a specific aesthetic.

UV Coating: Our best coating in terms of functionality and finished appearance, providing an added degree of surface scratch and mar resistance. Can be specified in a wide range of gloss levels – from matte (low) to extra-gloss (very high).

Waterbased Urethane: A practical, mid-range coating offering a limited gloss range – from matte (low) to high gloss (high).
Please Note: Currently not available with our radiance Flat Laminates.

Vinyl Coating: An economical coating that provides an additional low-end gloss level – from dull (very low) to high gloss (high). Especially functional for those laminates that are heavily embossed.

Uncoated: Our Flat Laminates can be left uncoated for those customers with special production or end use requirements or who wish to apply their own coating.
Please Note: Customers should consult OMNOVA’s Technical Service staff before attempting to apply any third-party coatings to ensure compatibility.

Laminate Thickness

The thickness of our Flat Laminates and radiance Flat Laminates can be customized. The use of a top coating will determine the degree of overall thickness.

Uncoated range: 4 to 12 mil (0.004” to 0.012”)
Coated range: 6 to 10 mil (0.006” to 0.010”)

Roll Width

The standard roll widths for our Flat Laminates are 50” and 62” – and 50” and 54” for our radiance Flat Laminates. We can cut or “slit” a standard roll width to a custom width that better matches your production requirements.
