OMNOVA Solutions has an experienced, full-service approach to custom design and production. Many of the creative and physical attributes of our Paper Laminates can be customized to give you the ability to quickly create unique and differentiated products that achieve your specific decorative and functional effects or meet demanding project requirements.
Paper Laminates' color, pattern, coating and finish, and weight and grade can be customized.
Color and Pattern
For those projects where “the look” is the highest priority, OMNOVA offers one of the industry’s largest design libraries. It features a comprehensive assortment of woodgrains including oaks, maples, cherries, fruitwoods and exotic woods. Our technical staff can assist in creating a unique, one-of-a-kind pattern for your project.
The creativity doesn't stop with the selection of a pattern. Our custom capability can help you achieve a unique appearance for your paper laminate by altering the colors used during the printing process or applying specialized coatings.
Performance Coatings and Decorative Finishes
Our Paper Laminates can be specified with a melamine, urethane or a high-end electron beam coating. The choice of coating will affect the decorative qualities and functional performance of the paper laminate to which it's applied. Selected coatings can change the finished appearance of a paper laminate with different gloss levels, while others can be used to create optical embossing effects (the optical illusion of a mechanical embossing – an effect that visually enhances the look and feel of a woodgrain pattern). The proper coating can also enhance a product’s durability and stain resistance. A refinishable coating will even allow post-production re-work of the laminate’s surface. Paper Weights and Grades
OMNOVA offers a number of paper substrates to meet specific applications for lamination or a project’s cost constraint. Our selection ranges from a 28 gram Economy Grade for light duty applications where cost is a concern up to an 80 gram Pre-Impregnated Paper (PIP) for masking unsightly substrates. In between, is an assortment of wrapping, industrial and high-opacity grades from which to choose, based on your project’s production requirement and end use applications.
