duraMAX Flat Laminates.
Flexible and Versatile.
OMNOVA's new duraMAX™ Flat Laminates are high performance and cost effective alternatives to thermally fused melamines (TFM) and vertical-grade high pressure laminates (HPL), featuring superior impact, abrasion and stain resistance. These products offer the same aesthetic values as TFMs but do not require two-sided lamination, enabling customers to value engineer their products for a variety of end-use markets, including retail store fixtures, furniture for healthcare and corporate office environments, as well as closet and home storage.
duraMAX Flat Laminates are fully integrated into OMNOVA's harmony™ program, which facilitates design and color matching across multiple product constructions. When combined with the Company's existing harmony program portfolio, which includes Paper, Flat, 3D and surf(x)® 3D Laminates, this innovation further enhances OMNOVA's value proposition as a total solutions provider.
In addition, duraMAX Flat Laminates offer laminators, original equipment manufacturers and fabricators an environmentally preferred decorative surfacing option. These laminates have been formulated without PVC or plasticizers and have been designed to comply with the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act and the European Union's REACH chemicals regulation.
Benefits
Durable
duraMAX Flat Laminates feature a protective coating with an added level of abrasion and scratch resistance which provides a long-lasting appearance. Testing results have show duraMAX Flat Laminates to have five times greater abrasion resistance and twice the amount of impact resistance when compared to thermally fused melamines.
Cleanable
duraMAX Flat Laminates are easily cleaned — usually with just soap and water — leaving no stain, as demonstrated by their NEMA LD 3-2005 total cleaning score of 4.
Moisture Hold-Out
duraMAX Flat Laminates have excellent moisture hold-out properties that mitigate risk of damage if the surface is exposed to moisture.
Cost-Effective
duraMAX Flat Laminates are a cost-effective, lightweight and more flexible alternative to solid wood components — while providing similar aesthetics. Additionally, they do not require two-sided lamination for a balanced construction, thus saving time and money when compared to thermally fused melamines.

LAMINATE SELECTION
Though our laminates can be used in many applications, all laminates are sold with the understanding that customers will make their own independent determination whether a particular laminate has the durability and other performance attributes required for the specific end use laminate application – not all laminates are suitable for all applications.
