Client Provided Artwork.
Years of experience in producing commercial wallcoverings and expertise in digital graphics and printing methods give our team the ability to turn original art, historical photographs, transparencies and more into attractive, eye-catching viewnique® wall murals. We can take the artwork you provide and prepare it for reproduction on one of our proven substrates. Our team can accept both digital and non-digital artwork.
viewnique Art Submission Guidelines
The following are a series of tips and techniques to help you prepare and submit various forms of photographs, illustrations or other original artwork.
General Image Preparation
- Please plainly label or number all artwork, both digital and original.
- Provide any color references (product samples, fabric swatches, etc.).
- Send a color proof for each image.
Original Artwork and Photographs
Copyright laws prohibit the reproduction of original works without prior consent from the author or artist. Always submit a signed copy of the viewnique copyright release form for all photographs, illustrations or other original artwork provided with the project.
When submitting photographic film (positive or negative transparencies), we recommend that the original film be provided. Copies from the original are not preferred because of their inherent loss of quality.
Photographic prints are not recommended due to a loss in quality when enlarged.
Preparation of Digital Files
- Never send original files.
- Organize all relevant files into one folder.
- Provide a contact name and phone number on all disks and materials.
- Check that all files are included on the disk (or other transport media) before submitting.
- All contemporary media formats are accepted: CD, DVD, ZIP.
Raster Graphics
- File Types: The viewnique design department accepts most raster graphic file types including: uncompressed TIFF, PSD, PCX, PNG, and PDF files as well as JPEG files depending on their compression quality.
- PPI: viewnique products require an image resolution of at least 75 ppi for small jobs and 50 ppi for larger jobs (dimensions above 10 feet).
Vector Graphics
- File Types: The viewnique design department accepts vector graphic files from the following computer design programs: Adobe® Illustrator®, CorelDraw® and Adobe Acrobat® (PDF).
- Fonts: If your design includes text, convert all text elements to outlines to eliminate the need to provide the accompanying font files.
- Color: When creating vector graphic files, specify all colors as Pantone match colors or as specific RGB or CMYK color builds. Identify all such color in the document’s swatch list.
Bleeds
When preparing images for reproduction – both original and digital – please allow a sufficient amount of image “bleed” (an excess trim area) around the outside of the framed image area. In other words, do not crop an image at its outermost edge – leave some amount of image for trimming purposes during installation.
viewnique products allow a 1” or greater bleed area on all sides of the image. Usually, the bleed area is trimmed away during installation, but can also serve to fill gaps due to inconsistencies in wall dimensions.
Color Matching
viewnique projects are printed in either a RGB or CMYK color space.
